NEWS ITEM: OHAKIM TO CONTEST OKIGWE SENATORIAL SEAT IN 2015

 


Former Governor of Imo State, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim may have set his sights on Okigwe Senatorial seat in the next political dispensation, This blog can reveal
Ohakim is said to be eying the seat as a measure to relaunch himself to political relevance in Imo State after losing his bid to run for office of the Governor for a second time in 2011.

He lost to Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the May 6, 2011 Supplementary election.
The former Governor is yet to officially deny or confirm his new found aspiration.
However, a group known as Okigwe Zone Youth Solidarity Forum (OZYSM), last week, called on the former Governor to run for Okigwe senatorial seat in 2015.
Leader of the group, one Comrade Victor Christopher said the decision of the group to call on Ohakim to contest for Okigwe senatorial seat in 2015 is borne out of his impressive performance as Imo State Governor from 2007- 2011.
