PDP Is Bound To Answer Corruption Allegations, Says Emeka Nwajiuba

NWAJIUBA
A former Member of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Nwajiuba has backed President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti corruption crusade, insisting that the PDP is bound to answer allegations bordering on fraud and corruption.

Nwajiuba who spoke to newsmen at his country home at Ehime Mbano LGA on January 3rd, 2016, stated that since PDP was in power at the centre and several states of the federation for 16 years, it is natural that questions bordering on corruption and fraud should be directed to its members who held various public offices.

“The PDP has to be questioned on corruption. it is natural they answer questions on corruption because  they were  in power for many years. APC was not in power
The three time governorship hopeful in Imo State said Governor Rochas Okorocha requires support from the people to carry out his programmes.

He said when he wanted to be Imo State governor, he articulated an economic road-map that centered on radical reforms in the agriculture, health and various sectors of the Imo economy.

“Three times time I ran for governor of Imo State, I had a manifesto. A manifesto I prepared a long time ago.  And I said at the 2011 governorship debate held at Odenigbo pavilion, Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri  that even if I did not win the election, anyone is free to take up my programmes and implement for the people of  Imo State.

“At that time, I was disturbed with the condition of Imo State. Because I recall that there were 107 abandoned Industries which could have been rehabilitated to create employment.  And I was bothered that Imo State was not contributing anything to the national economy.

“There were abandoned Rice Mills. I have invested in Agriculture, piggery and chicken and this is working for me.  That is what has kept me going.

On his role during the merger of then opposition political parties that formed the All Progressive Congress (APC), Nwajiuba said he played an active role as a member of the defunct Congress For Progressive Change (CPC)

He said “I was part of one of the committees for the merger. And we in the CPC were so committed to the merger and we gave in everything.
