Okorocha, INEC Colluded To Suspend Re Run Polls In Imo North, Says Imo PDP Faction

BY GRACE IGWEANYI
The PDP at the weekend, fired salvos at Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and INEC and security agencies for working hand in gloves to suspend re- run elections in Imo State.

Imo State PDP Chairman, Nnamdi Anyaehie told newsmen sunday that the postponement of the polls was a contrivance of the State government whose top officials recruited miscreants, urchins to storm INEC premises at midday with dangerous weapons blocked the entrance gate of the commission with a heavy duty truck full of stones with the intent to prevent INEC from dispatching the election materials where elections to be held.

Aside Imo North, INEC has to cancel elections for three House of Assembly seats in Isiala Mbano, Oru East and Owerri West.

According to Anyaehie, “it beats our imagination and the minds of all right thinking individuals how such an ugly incident could thrive in presence of armed security agents and yet nobody was arrested.

He frowned at a broadcast by the State governor, a day before the election who called on the electorate to vote for the APC Candidate, Benjamin Uwajumuogu.

He described Okorocha’s action is an abuse of paraphernalia of office even when campaign period had closed.
