Biafra: Ohaneze Ndi Igbo On Fire Over Kanu

.IPOB Leader Vows to Die Prison than for Igbo Group to Lay Claim to His Release.

BY PAUL EJIMKONYE

KANU
The Pan Igbo Socio political Organization, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo has come under scathing remarks from Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over recent  comments credited to Ohaneze Youth Wing.

Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Youth Wing had last week said it is seeking for a political solution to ensure Kanu’s release from detention by engaging Presidency officials and prominent traditional rulers in the country.

The IPOB, which the detained Kanu leads, has faulted the move and lambasted the group.

It warned members of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and its youth wing to cease forthwith such move, stressing that nobody or group speaks or represents them unless such persons are designated officers of IPOB worldwide.

In a statement signed by its U.K Spokesman, Clifford Iroanya and Emma Mmezu, a lawyer, the group stated that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu said he would rather die in jail than for Ohaneze Ndi Igbo to claim the glory of his release as he has no dealings with Ohaneze.

“I will rather die in jail than for Ohaneze Ndi Igbo to claim the glory of my release” Kanu reportedly said.
Part of the statement reads “We are in Court and our wish is expose the fraudulent change of treasonable felony before the whole world. At the end of this case, the corrupt and compromised segment of the Nigerian judiciary will be publicly disgraced.

“Our match to freedom is unstoppable; this is something Buhari ought to know. We have come to die for Biafra that is what it will take to be free.

IPOB’s reaction follows an alarm from Enugu, Sunday, by some of the group’s members that some people suspected to be Ohaneze and their youth wing are impersonating IPOB leaders in Enugu, claiming to be representing IPOB in a meeting with some American officials who were in Nigeria to have a meeting with the group on the release of their leader.

IPOB said they were not informed of such meeting, saying they were impersonated.

But in a sift reaction, Ohaneze Youth Wing said the story peddled by IPOB is a “ rumour and a blatant lie”
