Some Imo PDP leaders..

The two feuding camps in the Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are compiling lists of ward executives ahead of congress to elect party officers, this online newspaper can reveal.

The two camps are led by a former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and senator representing Imo West senatorial district.

This development is taking place despite repeated calls for a free and fair ward and LGA congresses to elect party officers by the party’s national executives.

The PDP in Imo State has suffered from the  anomaly of imposition of  party officers which has been the root causes of the failure of the party to win elections in the State.

However, loyalists of the two camps in the party  have been enmeshed in fierce supremacy battle to take control of the party structure despite repeated pleas and intervention by the national executives of the party in Abuja.

Meanwhile, an Orlu High Court has upheld the sack of the state party executives led by Dr. Nnamdi Anyaehie. It ruled that the caretaker committee was properly constituted and should therefore mid wife the affairs of the party.

Details of the ruling were sketchy as at press time.
