No reason was given for the invasion of the security forces at the party office but this newspaper was informed that the fierce war ensued between the executives led by Nnamdi Anyaehie and the caretaker committee headed by Vitalis Okafor could be the major reason.
It was learnt that both factions had made radio announcements inviting party members for a crucial meeting today, Saturday (March 5th, 2016) at the state party office.
No reason was given for the decision of both factions to summon today’s meeting. But a source said the coming congress could be a major factor for the face off.
Some key leaders of the party as reported by this online newspaper are expected to meet the party’s national chairman, Ali Modu Sherrif on Tuesday in Abuja
