Banks
and some financial institutions in the State have joined the strike embarked on
by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in Imo State.
This
is in line with the announcement by the
State NLC Chairman, Austin Chilakpu yesterday that the strike will effectively
take off today in the State.
Most
residents were seen clustering around ATM machines of most banks as they
expressed frustration over the strike action.
Schools remain shut as students of secondary
schools and pupils of primary schools were sent home yesterday.
