The number of governorship aspirants from Orlu Zone ( Imo North) appears to be on the rise with indications that a top politician (names withheld) from the area is set to join the contest.
He is from the popular Ideato clan, where incumbent Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha comes from. He is of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State, a party so power thirsty to recover the State from the grip of the All Progressive Congress, APC
His aspiration is expected to ruffle feathers in Owerri Zone (Imo North). The Zone has been insisting that it is their turn to produce the next governor of the State.
Their clamour appears to be falling in deaf ears following reports that this money bag politician with very deep pockets, with vast investment in manufacturing, importation, oil and gas is set to join the Imo governorship race except there is last minute u –turn on his part.
He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and was a strong contender for the governorship ticket of the party in 2006. He was once declared winner of the primaries but stripped of it barely 24 hours later.
He ran one of the most glamourous campaigns in the State at that time as PDP ward, local Government and State executives will quickly remember him for his largesse and other goodies to the party.
He is said to have embarked on consultations with political soulmates and presently reviving his political structure to ensure a successful political outing
