U Turn: PDP Rule Out Automatic Tickets For Aspirants, Zero Tolerance For Factions In Imo

Mu'Azu
Public office seekers in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have received a riot act from the party leadership in Abuja as the party is not willing to give anyone automatic ticket for any elective position.

This blog was told that the present disposition of the Adamu Muazu led PDP is not disposed to give anyone automatic ticket.

According to a source “This is aimed at not creating room for disaffection among party members and undue advantage for some aspirants”

Mu azu was reported to have told PDP stakeholders from Akwa Ibom State that no one seeking for elective office in the party will get an automatic ticket as the party as the new PDP is disposed to hold free, fair and credible primaries and ensure a level playing field for everyone.

“This is the disposition of the party. We are avoiding implosion in the party after primaries. There will be no favoured aspirants and automatic ticket for anyone. There is no basis for that anymore” the source stated.

If the party tows this line of action, then some decampees from other political parties to the PDP are in for a rude shock.

Some federal lawmakers from Imo State and other States of the federation had decamped from their various parties to the PDP claiming that they were assured of automatic tickets.

In Imo State, Hon Ezenwa Onyewuchi, had decamped from APGA to the PDP. Some of his loyalists had alleged that he was assured of an automatic ticket on the PDP platform to return to the Federal House of Representatives.

In addition, those who intend to cause factions in the party will not be spared. This blog learnt that Muazu is going tough on proponents of factions in any chapter of the party in the country.

The source added “we will not spare proponents of factionalization. Do know why Gulak was removed as political Adviser to President Jonathan. He went to Uyo and attended a meeting with a faction of the party that is not recognized by the party leadership in Abuja.  That was one of his sins and he had to pay dearly for it”
