Imo Information Commissioner Scores Rochas High

 Imo State Information and Strategy Commissioner,  Dr. T.O.E Ekechi, has said those who intend to succeed the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, must strive hard to surpass the achievements of the present governor, just as he scored his boss high in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Imo State.

He said Governor Okorocha has raised the bar of governance in the State if his achievements in office are to be assessed by his performance in office.

Ekechi who spoke with journalists in his office, said the Imo Governor deserve kudos for several programmes and initiatives introduced by Governor Okorocha such as the massive road rehabilitation in the State, free education programme and other policies that has elevated the State.

The Commissioner said Governor Okorocha should be encouraged and not be derided, urging journalists in the State to compliment the efforts of the Rescue mission administration in the State by highlighting the giant strides of the State Government.

He went on to advise newspaper publishers, editors to stick to the norms which guide and regulate the  journalism practice in Imo State, stating that there is urgent need for internal cleansing of the profession to ensure that standards are met and preserved.

He said journalists play a crucial role in shaping the perception of the society, stating that false reportage and blackmail has no place in the profession and should be discarded.
