How Okorocha's Men Diverted N2 billion bail Out Funds, Says EFCC

 

OKOROCHA
The sum of N2 billion naria was diverted from the N25billion naria bail out funds released to Imo State by the Central Bank Of Nigeria,CBN, for payment of workers outstanding salaries in Imo State.

This formed the basis for the arrest of three principal officers of the Imo State Governor,  Rochas Okorocha by the Economic And Financial Commission, EFCC, yesterday in Owerri.

Those arrested by the anti graft agency are Paschal Obioma Chigozie,  principal secretary to the Governor, Uzoho Casmir,Director of Finance and Iheoma Kenneth,treasurer.

Their arrest followed an investigation into the alleged diversion of N2billion which showed that the cashier had made cash withdrawal of N456,532 million between September 3,2015 and October 10,2015 from the Government House account domiciled in Zenith Bank.

Further investigation reveal that Uche Nwosu,Okorocha's Chief of Staff following approval and directive by the principal secretary.

A statement issued by the EFCC gave detailed account of how the monies were siphoned, explaining that they will be charged to Court.
