Italy’s Defender, Angelo Ogbonna was
born to Nigerian parents who hail from Owerri West in Imo State.
His parents were said to have immigrated to Italy from Nigeria in 1983 and settled in the city of Cassino in central Italy.
His middle name is Obinze. Obinze is a tiny village located along Owerri- Port Harcourt road and it is in Owerri West local government area .This has fueled speculations that Ogbonna might hail from this village
Ogbonna who is a regular with English Premier league club, West Ham United has been a member of the Azzuris as the national team of Italy is called. He had a brief stint with FC Juventus of Italy

He is not been able to break fully into the main squad of the Italian national team. The lanky well built defender, according to reports obtained Italian citizenship on his 18th birthday and is currently a member of the current Italian national team taking part in the ongoing Euro 2016.
