IMO GOV, SPEAKER DENY RIFT..... As Okorocha Says He Did Not Punch Gov Obi's Aide @Ekwueme's Birthday

The widely speculated cold war between the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, has been debunked by the duo.
In what appears an official reaction to several media reports that the Imo Governor and the Speaker are on war path over several issues, including the swearing in of the member representing Oguta State Constituency, Eugene Dibiagwu, the duo came out yesterday claiming that they are working hand in gloves to ensure the overall betterment of the people of Imo State.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser ( Print Media) to the Governor, Ebere Uzuokwa, he described recent statements alleging a face off between the Governor and the Speaker as the handiwork of enemies who are peddling falsehood against the present Adminstration.
The Statement reads The attention of His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha has been drawn to a publication which created impression that the governor and the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Benjamin Uwajimogu is presently at war.
This is another falsehood peddled by few disgruntled elements and enemies of the state government whom Imo people know will stop at nothing to ensure that Gov. Okorocha-led administration fails.
The cordial relationship that has continued to exist between His excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Speaker and members of Imo State House of Assembly has overnight become their headache.
As democrats, Gov. Okorocha, Hon. Uwajimogu and members of Imo State House of Assembly are committed to taking the state to greater heights so that history will always remember them as men who came, saw and conquered.
This is one of the major reasons Gov. Okorocha has continued to closely involve the legislature in executing most projects and programmes that have no doubt impacted positively on the lives of Imo people.
It is on record that Gov. Okorocha has at no time and for whatever reason meddled in the activities of the legislature. In fact, he is one of the ardent believer of separation of powers and checks and balances.
The leadership style of the governor, prudent management of the state resources to achieve unimaginable result and zero-corruption approach in governance has so much endeared him to the Speaker and members of Imo State House of Assembly.
It is however worthy to mention that His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is ever committed to working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that Imo becomes better and will definitely move on the same page with the Speaker and members of the state legislature in achieving the task’
Speaking on the same vein, the Special Adviser (Media) to Speaker Uwajumuogu, Ikenna Samuelson told this blog that the Governor and the Speaker are on one page. He said it is not true that there is bad blood between Okorocha nad Uwajumuogu, stating that those proclaiming a face off between the duo are only displaying the figment of their imagination.
Meanwhile, the Imo State Government has denied reports that the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha punched Obi’s aide at the birthday ceremony of Governor Peter Obi over a seat. In a statement signed by the Governor’s Media aide, stated that nothing of such happened as the originators of the story are only bent on tarnishing the image of the Governor
