AT LAST, BETHEL AMADI DRAGS FERMA TO REPAIR OWERRI-OKIGWE ROAD

The deplorable Owerri- Ekemele- Akabo- Okigwe Road which was a death trap is on the verge of massive repair courtesy of the prompt intervention of the member representing Ikeduru/Mbaitoli Federal Constituency, Hon Bethel Amadi.
Amadi, who is also the President of the Pan African Parliament, last week, dragged the Federal Roads Management Authority (FERMA) to the site where repairs of the damaged road are being effected.
Conducting the Honourable member round the site, the FERMA official in charge of the road repair site, Mrs. Agnes Adimaelechi, assured Hon Amadi that work aimed at repairing the road is in progress and that  the agency will strive within its capability to ensure it concludes the project within the time allotted to it.
Earlier in his speech, Hon Amadi described the Owerri- Okigwe road as strategic that is vital to the economy of Imo State and the South East zone. He urged FERMA to take advantage of the imminent dry season to ensure it completes repairs on the road.
Amadi also lamented over the poor condition of roads in the entire South East, describing the situation as regrettable and called for immediate action.
Speaking also, the State Secretary of the PDP, Sir George Egu, expressed happiness that the road is receiving attention of the Federal Government due to the single efforts of Hon Amadi.
He urged the communities bordering the road and the contractors working on it to ensure speedy completion of the renovation work.
