PDP New Converts In Imo Invade Abuja For Appointments, Contracts

A good number of those who decamped from the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State to the PDP have stormed Abuja to curry for one favour or the other.

They are in several categories. Those seeking for appointments and those seeking for Federal Government contracts

Most of them in apparent desperation to be part of the goodies of the ruling party at the centre have invaded the offices and homes of top PDP officers in Abuja lobbying for one position or the other.

Part of their game-plan, according to a source close to one of such politician, is that they have to be financially okay in order to tackle the political strength of Governor Rochas Okorocha and the APC group in Imo the 2015 general elections in the State.

Our correspondent learnt that most of the decampees, especially those not running for elective offices in the State on the party platform, have besieged top PDP eggheads seeking for one form of contract or appointment on the basis of being financially stable to be able to revive PDP structures in the State.

for instance,Former Imo State Governor, Achike Udenwa on his decampment from the APC to PDP was a step close to be the Chairman of SURE-p until he was dropped at the last minute by President Goodluck Jonathan.

President Jonathan later appointed General Martin Luther Agwai for  the position, but later nominated the former Governor as a delegate the ongoing national conference in Abuja.

Udenwa and co decamped from the APC to the PDP last month at a  Unity rally held in Owerri and witnessed by President Goodluck Jonathan and other party leaders
