It is a political road map that will see him defeat his political opponents and smile again to Government House, Owerri in 2015.
This blog has stumbled on a grand plan by the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to return to office for a second term as Imo Governor.
A source in Government circles who pleaded anonymity gave this blog some details of how Rochas intends to return for a second term in Government House, Owerri a second term.
He said “Part of the strategies is to shore up his support base especially in Okigwe and Orlu Zones by erecting massive political structures which has intimidating and far reaching political tentacles.Owerri Zone is strongly agitating for the Governorship, so we understand the political heartbeat of that area"
“Infact we are focusing so much in Okigwe. The Okigwe Political Peoples Movement (OPPM) has the backing of the Government House and other pro rescue missionaries. The Governor is pleased with the political tentacles of the group and wants it replicated in other zones.
“One of the three mayors (names withheld) who had developed cold feet over on-goings in the APC for sometime has been settled to drive the project in Okigwe Zone.
"The political strategist had been wooed by the PDP kingpins and was on the verge of leaving before his nerves were calmed by the rescue missionaries to stay put in APC. A former Governor in the State who was disgraced out of office wanted him back so badly because of his political strength and unwavering political abililty to mobilize the grassroot. He almost left but he was brought back
“A top government official was to co- ordinate similar outfit in Owerri zone but he was unable to erect the group because he was blackmailed by another senior Okorocha loyalist who took over the assignment.
"The Governor had enormous respect for that appointee and because of that others felt envious and he was blackmailed out of office. Even the said appointee raised objections to the disposition of some rescue missionaries towards him but he was not listened to anymore by his principal.
“Keke operators are also part of the plot to drum up for the second term ambition of the Governor.
“The kekes are integral component of the plot because of their vast number and ability to communicate to large segment of the voting population the good intentions of the governor. This was why the Governor hosted the Keke operators recently. They will play a key role in his re election plan.
“A lawmaker in the Imo House of Assembly from Orlu Zone who has been co-coordinating the kekes in the State has been asked to double up his co- coordinating efforts. He is the patron of the parent keke body that regulate Keke operations in the State
“The APC in the State which has been in quandary will be revived . The Chief of Staff who co- ordinates the party affairs from his office in Government House may be shoved aside for a prominent politician to take up the co- ordination of the APC in league with the newly elected executive. Hilarly Eke, the new APC Imo helmsman is Rochas political manfriday.
“They have been together for a long time and Rochas listens to him. He was chosen to neutralize Mbaise where a top PDP Governorship aspirant holds sway. His ability to do so does not matter, what we are looking at is to increase the number of forces against this opponent in Mbaiseland. More Mbaise sons disposed to work in this government will be brought on board when the cabinet reshuffle takes place soon.
“We are looking at grassroots mobilization. I mean mobilizing the groundswell of grassroot support Rochas has in the State. We are in touch with the grassroots. This is why a lot has been done at the grassroots. The CGC, The Plant A Tree Project, the Motorcycles given to Vigilantes in the communities, the Youths Must Work Programme More is still on the way.
"The Infrastructures Owelle is putting in place is the magic wand we are using to get the grassroots. They are the ones who vote. We have seen the disposition of the people towards these projects. It is encouraging, it is only the elites that grumble about it, but the grassroots appreciate what is being done.
"Besides, Do big-men vote? Did any big-man vote for Rochas in 2011? We understand the class war going on in the State. The elite’s vs the grassroots? Most of the elites are not happy that we are talking directly to the grassroots and this is why they are using unfriendly media houses to blackmail us and spread falsehood.
“They feel insulted and punctured by that. The Elites will go to the PDP bigmen and collect money only for them to sit down in their houses on Election Day. The Keke riders, the market women will go and vote and defend the votes. Have been to the villages, forget the jaundiced and twisted views you hear in Owerri and on the social media. Do local people who vote access the internet?
“We know the areas of strength we have and we will make use of it very well. There will be many more shows to drive home Rochas aspiration such as the Cultural Day stuff. We will engage the masses the more. It’s going to be massive. Watch and see
“All those unpaid will be paid. We will put everyone in the State on a happy octave very soon. Those who have one grievance or the other will be sorted out. We are looking at 80% acceptance rating before the elections. People will be so happy that PDP will struggle so much with little success to convince them not to vote for us.
"PDP will blow away. Implosion will be their doom. They will blow up. We are not afraid of them. They are hoping on Abuja power or Federal Might. Is Owelle on collision course with Abuja?
Reminded that the Catholic Church which backed the Governor in 2011 has not exhibited much support towards the present administration recently, the source said" just watch and see"
