Mbaise USA Inc Elects New Executive

 Mbaise people living in the United States of America have elected new officers to run the affairs of the association for the next two years. The election of the new officers that was part of the programme slated for the 2014 Mbaise USA Inc 7th Annual Convention held in New Jersey from the 3rd to 6th of July, 2014, produced Mr Law Osondu as the new president.

 The election was conducted in a very peaceful manner as the incumbent president of the association, Mr Chamberline Nwanne slogged it out with his Vice, Law Osondu who is now elected as the new president of the association.

Addressing the media after he was announced as the winner of the keenly contested poll, Mr Law Osondu, the new president expressed his gratitude to all the Mbaise sons and daughters who found him worth for service and promised not to disappoint them. “I feel honoured by my election which shows the confidence of Mbaise people in USA on me. This is the hand of God. I will take Mbaise USA to a greater height and ensure that I will not fail Mbaise. For the next two years, our medical mission will be on course. I will concentrate on ensuring that Mbaise is at peace, united, focused and well positioned to take their rightful place in the polity of Imo State. I will ensure that our conventions are better managed under my tenure. I will not go beyond the limits of our association on matters of politics”, Mr Osondu noted.

On the Ahiara Diocese quagmire, Law Osondu noted that it is very wrong not to have considered any Mbaise indigenous priest for Bishop. On the Imo State governorship aspiration by Mbaise, he advised all Mbaise sons and daughters to crave for political positions of influence noting that he will do everything possible to support the desire for an Imo State governor of Mbaise extraction. He thanked Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and his entourage for honouring the invitation of Mbaise USA stressing that it is a show of his patriotism and dedication to the course of the people.

Also speaking, the newly elected Director of Women/ Children Affairs of the association, Mr Perpetua Ogoke(nee Nwagwu) expressed joy over the outcome of the election that gave her victory stressing that she will surely deliver and not to let the association down.

 She stressed that the time for an Mbaise person to be the governor of Imo State has come. Mrs Ogoke pointed out that Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha is the most prepared with sound credentials of service to Nigeria and Imo State to govern the state hence she called all other people aspiring for the position to rally round the Deputy Speaker for the 2015 governorship election. In the same vein, the reelected Chairman, Board of Delegates, Mr Loveday Charles stated that by his reelection, he will make the association more efficient.

He also pointed out that the Deputy Speaker has done a lot for Imo State in terms of attracting dividends of democracy and ranks very high in his bid to govern Imo State. He encouraged Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha to count on their support Urging the federal government to pay more attention on Imo State and for the people to make wise choices on those who govern them.

The former president of the association, Mr Chamberline Nwanne earlier assured the incoming executive of his total cooperation noting that the aim is to forge a common front for the betterment of the entire Mbaise people living in the USA and at home. He thanked all Mbaise people for the opportunity given to him to serve them.

While presenting the newly elected executive before the public, the reelected PRO of the association, Chief Kelechi Onyegbule stated that they are more charged to give Mbaise the best of the service. Some of the newly elected exco include: Hon Ikwu Chukwunyere (Secretary General) Innocent Ekechukwu(Treasurer) among others
