The dwindling electoral value of the All Progressive
Congress APC, in Imo State will soon change for good as indications have emerged that the State
Governor and leader of the party in Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is bent
on preparing the party to keep the PDP in permanent opposition in the State in 2015.
The State Governor who has been accused of starving
his party members of funds and other goodies to nourish the party for the
titanic electoral contest has rolled out several incentives and mouth watering items that will spur them to work hard for the party in the 2015 polls
This Blog gathered that branded brand new vehicles has
been purchased by the State Governor for party officers and members from the state
to the ward levels. The vehicles assembled at Hero’s square, Owerri is said to be
part of the Governor’s tacit strategy to garner support from the members of the
party ahead of the 2015 elections in the State.
Also, in what
appears a deft political move to shore up the battered image of the APC in Imo State,
the State Governor has gone ahead to appeal to the
people of the State to disregard rumours that the APC is a Boko Haram party.
He told some of his political appointees and APC stakeholders
at a breakfast meeting held at Government House, Owerri, that the APC has no
hand in the activities of Boko Haram, adding that the dreaded set was already in existence before
the APC came on board the nation’s political landscape,
He urged party members
not to allow such rumours distract them from the love and support they have for
the party, pointing out that the success and failure of the APC in Imo State lies in the hands of party
stakeholders.
