Biafra: Igbos Should Unite In Demanding For Nnamdi Kanu's Release, Says Ohaneze

BY GRACE IGWEANYI
KANU
Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Imo State chapter has appealed to Igbos to unite in demanding for the release   of Director of Radio Biafra and leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu .

The call was made by President General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Imo State chapter, Ambassador Akpelu Azuunna at Ohaneze Award And Cultural ceremony held in Ower
ri on December 29, 2015.

He also called on the Federal Government to release Kanu.

In his address at the event, Azunna said Igbos should unite and call for Kanu’s release, saying there is need for Igbos to work towards “the speedy end of the charges against one of our sons and brother, Nnamdi Kanu and let the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari look at the general outcry of Ndi Igbo against their clear marginalization in His Government by implementing the Nigeria equity charter in his administration to cool the already twisted nerves in Nigeria”

Azunna called on President Muhammadu Buhari to look at issues raised by Nnamdi Kanu and some well meaning Igbo sons and Nigerians and proffer lasting solutions to them “rather than allowing more agitations as doing so will help to bring lasting peace and tranquility in our land.

He called on Igbos o unite in the cause of saving the Igbo nation, just as he called for prayers for Igbos in positions of authority

“I plead with Ndi Igbo to be of good behavior by supporting those in positions of authority through praying, criticizing constructively and contributing our quota in our nation building rather than being at the fence complaining without coming up with solutions to our problems

Azunna also called on Igbo leaders to come to the rescue of the dwindling core values of Ndi Igbo.
