Imo North Senatorial Rerun: APC Raise Alarm Over PDP's Plot To Truncate Polls

.Says Party is Panicking over fear of defeat

The All Progressive Congress, APC says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is scared of defeat in Imo North Senatorial re- run scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 20, 2016.

The ruling party also said the camp of the PDP candidate is panicking and afraid of an impending defeat because some of the PDP House of Assembly candidates are blaming the PDP Imo North Senatorial candidate, Athan Achonu of causing their defeat in the last election.

In a statement signed by APC Leadership Caucus in the South East zone, Osita Okechukwu, predicted victory for his party’s senatorial candidate, Benjamin Uwajumuogu, who according to him is leading based on popular opinion of voters.

Okechukwu said based on fear of defeat staring before the PDP on the face and its candidate, Athan Achonu, the PDP is involved in a plot to use the manual voters registration to rig the re-run election of Imo North senatorial district.

While calling on the people of the district (Okigwe zone) to remain vigilant, he said available information to the APC shows that the PDP plans to rely on the manual voters register to manipulate the polls.

Okechukwu said the discovery reinforces the rumour making the rounds that the PDP is banking on the Supreme Court ruling, which more or less killed the card reader.

He drummed support for the APC senatorial candidate and former Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Benjamin Uwajumuogu translates to an automatic ticket for Igbos to join the senate leadership caucus, a privilege even senator Ike Ekweremadu as Deputy Senate President does not have.
