Njemanze was the whistle blower that exposed the legalization of abortion in Imo State as contained in law no 11 of the State.
His revelation and pressure on the State government forced the Imo State House of Assembly to repeal the law in 2013

Efforts to speak to the Police PPRO, Iheanyi Enwerem on Njemanze’s arrest early today (15th February, 2016) were futile as at press time.
Njemanze, a member of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) had accused the Imo State government of “organ harvesting” in hospitals.
The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Imo State branch, last week carried out a peaceful protest on the streets of Owerri protesting the closure of public hospitals and sack of health workers.
The protest turned bloody when one of the protesting doctors, Bede Azudialo was injured by teargas canister fired by the Police. The police denied the allegations.
