Enyeama Gets FIFA Award

ENYEAMA
Vincent Enyeama, a former captain of Nigeria senior soccer team, the Super Eagles, on March 1st received an award from FIFA, world soccer governing body for his superlative exploits in French lique 1

The 33 year goalkeeper who retired from international football recently, took to instagram to share the good news with soccer loving Nigerians who are the bulk of his fans  “This is how goodness and mercy will follow you all this month of March. First day of the month, FIFA got me a trophy for hardwork, dedication, success,” he wrote under a photograph of himself with a plaque.

“Thank you @FIFA. I want to wish everyone reading this message a wonderful month of March. God did it for me. God will do it for us.”

Enyeama is one of the very few Nigerian players with over 100 caps, a feat which he has also achieved for his French side.

He abruptly retired from international football in 2015 after falling out with Sunday Oliseh, who was then the Super Eagles head coach.

The goalkeeper, who has made 49 saves in 25 games for Lille this season, has ruled out coming back to the Nigerian national team even with the recent exit of Oliseh.
