Owerri based Newspaper,WatchDog Celebrate Two Years of Investigative Journalism

Orlu Communications limited, Publishers of Owerri based investigative newspaper,Watchdog Newspaper will be celebrate its second year anniversary in Owerri.

The newspaper is noted for its in depth investigative stories which are quite controversial.

A statement emailed to this online newspaper and signed by the publisher of the newspaper, Comrade Precious Nwadike, the event will take place on 11th March, 2016 at Benchmark hotel, Ikenegbu, Owerri, Imo State by 11AM.
 The statement reads:
 “Orlu Communications Limited whose main business office is located at 49 Zanders Street Owerri, Imo State, will on Friday March 11, 2016 be celebrating the second year anniversary of the debut of its Tabloid “Watchdog Newspapers” on the stable of mass communication outfits in Imo State.

 “As part of the activities to mark the celebration, the publications have instituted an Annual Lecture series tagged “Excellent Leadership Lectures” which will feature selected scholars in various disciplines to dwell on contemporary issues on effective leadership towards the growth of our nascent democracy and the political emancipation of our rural electorate and their leaders.

“The maiden Edition of the Lecture Series will feature a prominent legal luminary, a Human Rights Activist, in the theme “The Role of the Electorate in Nigeria Project under the rule of law”. He is Barr. Ngozi Olehi.
“It is expected that a foremost Nigerian Entrepreneur, Scholar, Manufacturer and Businessman, Dr. Frank S.U. Jacobs, National President of Manufactures Association of Nigeria (MAN) will deliver the Keynote Address.

According to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Comr. Precious Nwadike, the young Newspaper which seem to have become controversial which dwells in investigative publications will use the opportunity of the Anniversary Ceremony to present unsolicited Merit Award on Excellent Leadership to some living legends and professionals in different class ranging from Education, Politics, Administration, Innovations, Entrepreneurship, Community Leadership, Integrity and Invention.

According to him, among those to be honoured are two leading educationists and pioneer politicians cum activists who contributed immensely to the development of education which turned out to be the highest industry of the South East Region today. They are Dr. Basil Nnanna Ukaegbu and Dr. Benjamin Uzoukwu Nzeribe and others.
