The Commissioner of Police, Imo State, CP. Taiwo Lakanu,
fdc in compliance with the Inspector General of Police IGP Solomon E. Arase
NPM, fdc, directives holds Town Hall meetings to address internal security
threats in the state.
Areas
meetings were held include Obinze, Okigwe and Nkwerre respectively. Various
community leaders, stakeholders, herdsmen, vigilante groups, youth leaders,
farmers and other community members turned out for the meetings.
The
Commissioner of Police addressed the various gathering on the current security
challenges associated with local communities and herdsmen as well as communal
clashes. He emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence as he visited
Fulani/Hausa settlements in the areas. The town hall meetings succeeded in
dousing tension and apprehension in Imo State in view of what happened in
Nimbo, Enugu State. Imo is satisfactorily peaceful.
