Okorocha Reconstitutes 135 Member Imo State Elders Council

 



A reconstituted Elders Council was inaugurated by Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha today at Government House, Owerri.

 The new council is headed by E.J.K Onyewuchi . The Governor announced that elders of the State ought to be carried along in affairs of governance now that they are still alive.

The new Council will now have an approved office, free medical services and other emoluments.

The Imo State Council of Elders first came into existence during the reign of Governor Ikedi Ohakim.

Its role is mainly advisory .
