Okorocha's In- Law, Uche Nwosu Wins Governors Award

 



The Chief of staff to the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Chief Uche Nwosu, Monday, was named  the most outstanding performed Government appointee in five years of the Rescue Mission Government in the Eastern heartland state.

He was also rewarded with a cash gift of N10million naria and a land

 Education, science and Technology commissioner, Mrs Gertrude Oduka emerged runners up and got  5 million naria and a parcel of land in the state capital, while the commissioner for Commerce, industry and Tourism, Barr. Ifeanyi Araraume( junior) placed third with a cash gift.

 The event was the account of stewardship by commissioners since 2011 the Okorocha administration came on board. The cash gifts is coming on the heels of persistent claims of scarce funds in the State which has led to 30% cut in the salaries of public workers.

The event  attracted some national leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC led by its  National chairman, Chief John Oyegun,  Governors of Kaduna and Bauchi States, Nasir El-Rufai and Muhammed Abubakar, respectively, and other notable personalities.

The winners of the prizes were announced by the chairman of the panel of judges headed by Retired Justice Duke Njeribako who congratulated them .

Chief Nwosu, Son-in-law to the Governor, Owelle Okorocha hails from Nkwerre Local Government Area, LGA, of the state, Oduka is from Ideato North LGA, while Araraume junior son of a powerful politician, senator Ifeanyi Araraume is a native of Isiala Mbano LGA.

The Governor congratulated the winners, urging them not to rest on their oars but redouble their efforts in taking the state to the path of economic, political and Financial developments and liberty .
