A two storey building located at No 11 Uzubi Street in Owerri municipal, Imo State in the early hours of this morning, July 16, 2016 was gutted by fire.
Billows of smoke emitting into the sky attracted men of the State Fire Service and Youths of the area who combined their efforts to put off the inferno
The building is mainly for office accommodation. An eye witness said a staff of one of the business outfit in the building filled up a generator with fuel and few minutes after he switched on the generator, there was an explosion which sprayed fire all over the building.
This led many to scamper for safety. Valuables including handsets, flat-screen tv, computers and other office equipments were destroyed by the raging fire.
