Imo North Senatorial Re Run: Politicians Recruiting Cultists, Thugs To Scuttle Polls, Says Police

 



 The Imo State Police Command, Owerri has raised alarm over the Imo North Senatorial election scheduled to hold on July 20, 2016 saying that politicians are recruiting cultists and thugs to scuttle the conduct of the election.

A release signed by Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Andrew Enwerem and emailed to this online newspaper, the command said intelligence reports at its disposal indicates that such politicians are holding nocturnal meetings in hotels and other secret places with intent to disrupt the election scheduled to hold on July 23, 2016
.The command therefore warned such politicians to desist from such acts capable of disrupting the successful conduct of the election, adding that the Force will not hesitate to deal with any politician involved in any criminal act.  It advised parents and guardians not to allow their children or wards to be used as tools by such politicians.  ( SEE FULL TEXT OF PRESS RELEASE BELOW)

Intelligence report at the disposal of the Imo State Police Command reveals that some Politicians in the State are recruiting cultists and thugs from within and outside the State and are holding nocturnal meetings in Hotels and other secret places with intent to scuttle the peaceful conduct of the forth coming Imo North Senatorial and other House of Assembly re-run election scheduled to hold on 23rd of July, 2016.
The Police Command through this press release warns Politicians in the state to desist from such acts capable of disrupting the peaceful election process in the state. The Command will not hesitate to deal with any politician(s) involved in any criminal act.  Parents/guardians are also advised not to allow their children or wards to be used as tools by politicians.
Any person(s) found engaging in acts of violence before, during and after the election will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
