Imo PDP Accuse APGA of Plans To Muzzle Some Media Houses

The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, last Thursday, accused the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the State of plans  to muzzle some media houses perceived to be publishing offensive stories against the Owelle Rochas Okorocha Administration.

The party in a statement in Owerri and signed by its Publicity Secretary, Blyden Amajirionwu, said it has uncovered plans by the ruling party to send thugs to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to invade the corporation and other media houses perceived to be anti government.

The PDP said any attempt by the APGA led Government in the State to attack individuals and Media Houses, will be a recipe for chaos and warned the Okorocha Administration should be held responsible for any act of lawlessness in the State.

The party added that the latest information is an indication that the private police set up in the guise of Imo Security Network by the APGA led government in the State is designed for the purpose of attacking those perceived to be enemies of the Government.
