The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last week  drilled the Imo State Finance Commissioner, Deacon Chike Okafor and the State Accountant General,Eze George Eche Ezenna

The news of their arrest spread like wild fire in the State when it was reported by a local tabloid in Owerri and several online news agencies.

Okafor, according to reports is being questioned by the anti graft commission over mismanagement of about N40billion naria, being monies that accrued to Imo State since the inception of the Rochas Okorocha administration.

Meanwhile, the EFCC yesterday granted bail to the  Commissioner for Finance  and Accountant-General.
According to the Head of Media and Publicity of the commission, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, the two officials were released after producing two sureties.
Uwujaren said: “They were released to reliable sureties-a Deputy Director in the FCT, a Director in Imo Liaison Office and the Liaison Officer.”
The bail confirmed that the two officials were arrested by the EFCC contrary to the claim of the Imo State Government.
