Rochas Undecided On Next Political Move, As Imo Governor Fails To Unveil 2015 Ambition.

ROCHAS

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, remains undecided on his next political move just as he gave a rendition of his achievements as Imo State Governor in the last three years.

Okorocha who spoke at Imo International Convention Centre, Owerri, to celebrate his three years in office, said he is still consulting if he will run for the presidency or seek re-election as Governor of Imo State in 2015.

He however outlined certain conditions that will influence his decision to either contest for the presidency or seek re- election as Imo Governor among which include financial support from Imolites and Nigerians.
The Imo Governor has been surrounded by speculations in recent times that he is plotting to be Vice Presidential candidate to a Northern APC Presidential Candidate on the APC platform.

He maintained that he remains a loyal member of the All Progressive Congress, APC, thus debunking insinuations that he made a move to join the PDP.

Okorocha stated that the APC remains the right political platform for Igbos to achieve their political desires, stating that the PDP has denied Igbos the opportunity to produce the top six positions in the country.

He however called for justice and the entrenchment of internal democracy in the APC, just he assured the party that the PDP can never cruise to victory in the State anymore.

The Imo Governor, who enumerated his achievements in office in the last three years, gave his administration a pass mark, stating that despite the sum of N165  billion naria that accrued to the State in three years , which is  meagre compared to overN800 billion naria Akwa- Ibom State received in three years, he has successfully transformed Imo State.
He debunked claims that he borrowed monies to execute government projects , thus making the State a debtor State.

“ I never borrowed money. We only took the N13.5 billion naria bond and we are repaying N350 million naria on it. The previous government spent N6 billion naira on the bond before we came in. No bank can claim we are indebted to them” he said

The Governor said he intends to complete all projects embarked upon by his government by December 2014, saying that  he will never relent in the task of making Imo State a better place because he wants to leave a legacy where he will be remembered for good by the people.

Okorocha was swift to deny reports that contractors in the State are not paid.
.
He said “We have paid almost all the contractors. Those who are owed have been paid up to 75%. We arrested contractors who have failed to comply. A special Committee headed by the Commissioner of Police, the Civil Defence Corps have will part of the committee to arrest erring contractors”

The event was attended by APc leaders such as Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu, Chief Tom Ikimi, Chief Audu Ogbeh, Timipreye Silva and other party chieftains
