BY EZE EGEJURU
Hundreds of workers from South East States namely Ebonyi, Abia,, Enugu, Anambra are now converging   in Owerri to show solidarity to thousands Imo workers who have been having a running battle with Imo State government over unpaid wages and salaries.

Also, labour leaders from the south East states including the national president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Waheeb Ayuba are expected to attend the grand rally taking place now at Owerri- Port Harcourt Road, Owerri.
The NLC national president is expected to address the workers.

One of the workers who spoke to INNONEWS.COM on phone said the event will be a massive solidarity rally to express their displeasure over unfair treatment of workers in Imo State.
This newspaper had exclusively reported that workers in Imo State were issued pay off forms in December 2014 before collecting their salary arrears, a claim the State government has denied.
On Monday, we also ran another exclusive story (READ: Downsizing of Imo Workforce Imminent?) which exposed plans by the Okorocha administration to retrench some workers in the Imo State civil service.
