Is PDP Dead In Imo State?

The PDP is an institution. PDP is not dead in Imo State. We have been consistently challenging the present government in the State. And I want to say that it is not true that we have gone to sleep. We have been talking and exposing the activities of the present government of Rochas Okorocha. You do not expect the tempo to be high all the time.

Remember during the last election, we did everything we could to make sure Rochas went out of office but somehow, it was not possible. This was because there was so much blackmail, anti party activities by some of our members. Some of these actions worked against the party.

Also some sectors of Imo people closed their eyes and rather relented in making sure we removed this government. They colluded with Rochas such as the Church, the civil servants, the labour and all other official organizations their eyes to the aberration of the Okorocha government. They all worked for him.  So, what do you expect the PDP to do at that time? Should we take the laws into our hands?

Those PDP members in Rochas government are not better off.  One thing I want to make clear is that Rochas successor will not succeed as governor in Imo State in 2019. Because If the people of Imo State allow his successor to succeed in 2019, then Imo State is dead. We will not allow such contrivance.

The battle for the salvation of Imo State in 2019 is not a PDP battle. It is a battle for Imo people. It is an Imo matter. It is a matter for the civil servants, the artisans. It is their duty to collectively remove this government in the next election.

 Why Did Imo PDP Recall Suspended Members Who Sabotaged The Party During The Elections?

Our action to recall those members is to make us more focused. We are not unaware of their actions during the last elections. We may have forgiven them but we have not forgotten.  We are rebuilding and it is part of the process of repositioning the party. We have put their actions behind us and decided to forge ahead.

How Do You Assess Some Of The Key Projects Of This Government?

Where are the projects? Which Projects. Is it the Elephant projects all the place? Governments are rated based on value of the projects.   

This government has failed in proving water; it has failed in giving the people good health and in other sectors as well, they have failed.  The Ohakim administration was rated very high for making Imo State clean and green.  Imo State was rated and respected for its cleanliness. It was also rated high in health and other sectors. This is the key to the growth of any administration. The flyover project of Ohakim government at Orji has utility value. Which of the present government's project has such value?

What we have are projects that are not sustainable.  Is it the waterfall project at wharehouse junction? Of what value is that project to the people of Imo State?  The 27 General hospitals are of no economic value because already we have existing health centres in the LGAs.

In my local government, we have a cottage hospital and a health centre. Why not improve such health facilities?. I can tell you that the Ministry of Health is not aware of the 27 General hospitals this government said it is building. There was no proper analysis by experts in the health sector before those projects were carried out.

Concessioning  of Govt Parastatals, Agencies

There was no evaluation of the parastatals and agencies the government said it wanted to concession.  Those establishments are established by the law. The Governor should have gone to the House of Assembly to explain why he wants to concession those agencies.  He has no such discretionary powers to just concession government establishments. He has no right close them down.

It seems Imo State is now a lawless State. Rochas does not understand what governance is all about.  We all saw how NITEL was sold. We all saw the processes. What is the process in concessioning these parastatals and agencies in Imo State.
