.Says He Remains Loyal To His Political godfather

HON AMADI
Immediate Past President of the Pan Africa Parliament, Hon. Bethel Amadi, OFR has described as malicious insinuations by an online news medium  that he deliberately stayed way from the dedication ceremony of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s child at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord (CATOL), Owerri recently.

Amadi is seen as Chief Iwuanyanwu's political godson. Therefore his absence at the ceremony raised suspicions and concern.

But Amadi cleared the air in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Sir Oluchukwu Ibekwe, who stated "that as soon as he (Amadi) received the news of the safe delivery of the new baby, he promptly placed a telephone call to Chief Iwuanyanwu during which both Hon. Bethel Amadi and his wife, Lady Barr. Mabel Amadi congratulated Chief Iwuanyanwu on the arrival of the new child".
Part of the statement reads  "Hon. Bethel Amadi was unavoidably absent during the child dedication ceremony because he had traveled out of the country on a prior engagement".

The three time federal lawmaker who represented Mbaitolu/Ikeduru federal constituency in the House of Representatives "stated that his relationship with Chief Iwuanyanwu had gone beyond politics as they have over the years, developed a “father and son” relationship:"

He described Chief Iwuanyanwu as an elder statesman who has made a lot of contributions towards the economic, political and social development of the Southeast geo-political zone in particular and Nigeria in general..

"His relationship with Chief Iwuanyanwu remains cordial and he remains respectful of the elder statesman" the statement concluded.
