Fresh Crisis Rocks IMSU SUG

Fresh crisis is said to be brewing in the Students’ Union Government of the Imo State University (IMSU)  over allegations that a top politician in the State who is a public office holder (names withheld) has infiltrated the Union with an irresistible amount of money.

A source said the politician who has been desperate to take control of the Union by ensuring the sack of the SUG President. The top public office holder was alleged to have doled out a whopping sum of N1 million naira to another top official of the Union to ensure the impeachment of the SUG President.

 This online newspaper was informed that the plan has reached an advanced stage and the process of impeachment will soon commence.

But it was gathered that other executive members of the union and majority of the students are fully backing the SUG President on the basis that they cannot allow external forces to determine the affairs of the Union of a citadel of learning.

“We have laughed off the matter because they will not succeed. We are standing with Our President. Gone are the days we are controlled by external forces" the source stated..
