Some top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP from Imo State are now in Abuja where they are expected to meet the national chairman of the party, Ali Modi Sherrif today ( 3rd March, 2016)
This newspaper had reported last week about the meeting which will be attended by key stakeholders and leaders of the party from State.
The meeting is coming after series of meetings of key organs of the party between Friday, Monday and today (Tuesday)
A source who spoke to INNONEWS.COM said they are already in Abuja for the meeting which will determine a lot in the party.
The PDP in Imo State has returned to the old ways to in- fighting.
Two powerful groups spearheaded by a serving senator and former federal lawmaker are scrambling for the soul of the party in the State.
Both have the intention of clinching the party’s governorship ticket in 2019 to challenge whoever the All Progressive Congress, APC Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha unveils as his successor.
Okorocha had recently announced that he will unveil four possible for public scruntiny in May, 2016
The PDP has been engrossed in fisticuffs with the State party secretariat turning to battle ground last Saturday which forced the Police to take over the party secretariat located along Owerri- Okigwe road.
Supporters of the executives led by Nnamdi Anyaehie which was sacked by the then Uche Secondus led National Working Committee (NWC) and the interim committee headed by Vitalis Okafor had clashed at the party office.
