"Organ Harvesting Case": Court Declines Jurisdiction, hands off Matter Between Dr.Njemanze Vs Imo State Gov.

BY GRACE IGWEANYI

NJEMANZE
His Worship, S.N Ogbu, the presiding magistrate in the matter between radical surgeon and whistle-blower, Dr.Phillip Njemanze and Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has declined jurisdiction on the matter.

At resumed hearing of the case today (March 11, 2016), Ogbu said he cannot go on with the matter and referred it back to the chief administrative magistrate for re assignment to another court.

Dr.Njemanze was dragged to court by the Imo State Governor on February 16th 2016 on a four count charge of maligning the number one citizen of the State.

.The first charge is that the accused published and wrote a petition against the governor accusing him of setting up human factory in order to traffic in human organs through the concessioned public hospitals.

Other charges against Njemanze are: "That anti human network has been established in Imo State, endangering lives of citizens; that the governor brought some American medical doctors into the State to treat a case which did not even break out in the State with ulterior motive and that the governor is causing insecurity in the State via his anti human policies".

The prosecution had said that the accused did the publications to cause breach of law and order in the State knowing that such publications are false.

Njemanze had pleaded not guilty and was granted bail for N100,000 with one surety and two passports and affidavit.

The anti0 abortion crusader had told INNONEWS.COM before his arrest and trial said that he has proof to back his case.

The State government  described  his allegations as laughable.

This newspaper had reported  that the Owerri based radical surgeon was arrested and tried perhaps in line with a request by the Serbia war crimes prosecution which asked Nigeria to investigate a state governor and Kosovo’s foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci of trafficking in human organs.
