National Chairman of the PDP, Senator Ali Modu
Sherrif has complied with the decision of the National Working Executive Committee
of the party to constitute four Special committees in preparation of the PDP
National Convention scheduled to hold on May 21, 2016.
The Special Committees are Zoning, Finance, National
Convention and Reconciliation Committee.
A statement by the National Organizing Committee in
Abuja, Abubakar Mustapha, said the committees were set up for the overall
rebuilding and repositioning of the party. He announced that the four special committees
will be inaugurated tomorrow, Tuesday April 5, 2016 at the Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
Top PDP chieftains across the country were included
in various committees.The National Convention committee has Governor
Nyesom Wike as Chairman with over 100 members. The Reconciliation Committee has
Bayelsa State Governor as its Chairman.
Senator Hope Uzodinma, Hon Emeka Ihedioha, former PDP
South East Zonal Chairman, Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu, Hon Gerald Irona and Vincent Okpaleke
are members of the National Convention committee from Imo State.
Former Governor of Imo State, Achike Udenwa, Dr (Mrs)
Kema Chikwe and former Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Jones
Okeke are also PDP members from Imo State that will serve on the Finance Committee.
No member of the party from the State is on the Reconciliation
Committee headed by Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson.
The zoning committee has former Imo State Governor,
Ikedi Ohakim as member. Hon Emeka Ihedioha and Senator Hope Uzodinma are also appointed as
members of the commitee.
Former lawmaker, Hon Jerry Alagbaso
from Imo State is also a member of the committee which also has Hon
Bonny Ebili as member.
