N10m Agric Loan: Imo House Of Assembly Summon, Drill Local Govt DAGS

Some Directors of Administration and General Services (DAGS) in some of the 27 local Government Areas in Imo State have been summoned by the State House of Assembly to explain  alleged diversion of N10m Agric loan in their various LGAs.

DAGS are the administrative heads of the local Governments. They oversee the day to day running of the Council headquarters.

The invitation of the DAGS, according to Assembly sources, is in line with an ongoing investigation in the diversion of N10 million naira Agric loans.

Some of the DAGS invited are still in service while majority of them have retired but were still invited to explain their roles over reports of the missing loans.

About 10  former and serving DAGS were invited by the House.  They were expected to appear before a special committee constituted by the Assembly to investigate the alleged diversion.

Details of what transpired at the meeting with the invited DAGS were sketchy as at press time.

In the past, controversies have always trailed the issue of Agric loans in Imo State.
