ACN,ANPP,CPC,APGA Collapse Into APC

Four main opposition parties -- the ACN, ANPP, CPC and APGA -- Wednesday announced their fusion into a new political party christened All Progressive Congress (APC).

Representatives of the parties led by Chief Tom Ikimi of the ACN in a statement to the media in Abuja announced the birth of the new party.

“At no time in our national life has radical change become more urgent.

“And to meet the challenge of that change, we the following progressive political parties, namely ACN, ANPP, APGA and CPC, have resolved to merge forthwith and become the All Progressive Congress,” Chief IKimi said.

Leaders of the parties have been holding meetings to finalize the merger deal which hopes to put up a strong challenge against the ruling PDP in the 2015 general elections.

Governors of the parties met Tuesday in Lagos and announced a deal had been reached on the merger
