Imo State
Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and national chairman of the All Progressive Grand
Alliance, APGA, are presently involved in war of words.
Umeh fired the first salvo recently when told
journalists that Imo and Lagos States will be demolished by APGA in the coming elections.
Umeh took
Rochas to the cleaners, describing him as an ingrate who abandoned the party that fulfilled his political dream and aspiration.
In response
to Umeh’ s comments, a local tabloid in Owerri quoted the Imo Governor as
saying that that neither Umeh or APGA as
a party has the capacity to take away Imo State from his party, the APC
The report
quoted the Governor as saying “Chief Umeh after being the national chairman of
APGA for more than twelve years and even with Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu alive
could not win an election beyond Anambra State with his APGA until 2011 when
Owelle Rochas Okorocha came and delivered Imo State to the party, a senator,
House of Representatives and Assembly members”
“ And
unfortunately for APGA and Umeh, the man who brought victory to APGA in Imo
State left and even the senator from Imo on the platform had also left and all these show that, APGA
wining another election in Imo will be like building a mansion in the air”
