The biting fuel
scarcity in Owerri, Imo State capital has ended with long queues vanishing at the
filling stations.
Our correspondent who
monitored the situation observed that most of the stations re- opened Thursday
night. However, most of them are yet to sell at government approved price of
N86.50k per litre. They sold a liter for N125.
This has reduced the
price of transport fares which sky rocketed over 200 % before the filling
stations shut down.
Christopher Amadi, Chairman, and Association of Imo State
Petroleum Marketers/Dealers had blamed the hike in the pump price of petrol
across the state on lapses from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,
NNPC.
A meeting between the Marketers/Dealers with the State
Governor, Rochas Okorocha took place at Government House, Owerri
