Confusion Hits Imo Politicians Over Alamesiegha's Visit To Rochas

 L:R:ROCHAS AND ALAMS
There is confusion among Imo politicians  trailed by series of  speculations in Imo State over the visit of former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamesiegha to Governor Rochas Okorocha in Owerri .

The visit has elicited some sort of frenzy in the political arena of the State with political pundits  speculating that the former governor of Bayelsa State is in Owerri on the promptings of the presidency and have asked Okorocha not to contest either for the APC Presidential or Vice Presidential tickets.

The Imo State Government is yet to issue a press statement clarifying the mission of President Goodluck Jonathan’s kinsman to Imo State thus fueling speculations in some quarters that the visit of Mr. Alamaseigha  is purely for political reasons.

Alamaseigha is considered to President Goodluck Jonathan's key political strategist and there has not been an official clarification confirming or dispelling these speculations.

A source however told This Blog“We are suspecting that Owelle is being wooed to shun the presidential or vice presidential tickets of the APC and rather return as Imo State Governor a second time.

He continued "This will surely give boost to the presidential ambition of Mr. President in the South East. Certainly, if Rochas gets the APC VP ticket, it will split the votes of the region for the PDP . So, I think the move is aimed at ensuring that  the entire Southern region does not deviate from the PDP. This is why you see the PDP coming strong in South West because the North is not certain as it is likely to vote APC

This development however could not be confirmed by any Imo State government official but investigations By This Blog indicate that some top politicians especially those in the PDP in Imo State were rattled with the visit wondering if the Abuja is contemplating sacrificing the collective quest of the PDP in Imo State to defeat Rochas and the APC in the coming elections.

" Its all make belief. There is no deal. some Rochas men are just raising some noise, taking advantage of Alams visit to Imo  to create the impressio that  their master is important in the re election plans of Mr. President. Mr. President is PDP and PDP has come take over power in 2015 in Imo State" said Chief Nelson Duruji, a PDP stalwart in Aboh Mbaise LGA
