Again, Imo PDP Postpone State Congress To May 18

The PDP in Imo State failed to hold its State congress today as expected.

The Congress was postponed to May 18, 2016. Reasons for the second postponement was sketchy as at press time.

It was unknown if the postponement had to do with a recent court order secured by a group in the party which challenged the conduct of the congress.

The party in Imo State has been embroiled in political horse-trading lately as party stalwarts who want to gain hold of the party structure as a basis to oil their ambitions in 2019 have been entangled in underground political manoeuvrings.

The state congress has polarized the party  with each leader scheming for control and relevance. The congress has been trailed by the conduct of ward and local government congresses held within the last one week.

Delegates to the congress have been quartered in various hotels and locations, a development which signal led the intensity of the raging political battle for  party positions n the party.
