Graduation Ceremony Of Ayodele Foundation In Imo: Beneficiaries Scramble For Rice, Lament Non Funding To Kick Start Business

Beneficiaries of Project Ayodele, Imo State chapter are lamenting that they were left empty handed after their graduation ceremony held at the international convention centre, Owerri.

The event attracted the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, wives of State Governors of Abia and Enugu States.

Mrs. Nneoma Rochas Okorocha, wife of the Imo Sate governor was the chief host. 810 beneficiaries took part in the graduation ceremony yesterday.
.One of the beneficiaries, who spoke to INNONEWS.COM after the exercise and the graduation ceremony, alleged that they were left with nothing to kick start their businesses after undergoing training for several months.

“We had expected some funds or capacity building to start up our businesses. We did not get any. Rather we were even more disappointed when the State governor, Rochas Okorocha said in the presence of the wife of the Vice President that we all have money to start our businesses.

She continued “I must say we are all disappointed with that comment. Where will get the money in a place like Imo where salaries are seldom paid.  In other states, we heard that after the training and graduation, they are given some capital to translate what is learnt from the training but that is not the case with us here in Imo State.

However, the ugly side of the event was the scramble for the bags of rice by the beneficiaries.  There were also complains of segregation among the graduates.

“Some of us who came from Owerri were not provided with seats at ICC. But those from Ideato and Mbano areas were given seats and we were forced to attach ourselves with them.
