Eze Imo said he was
overseas when he was informed of the Court action. He added that he will
decline comments on the matter since it is before a Court of law.
Speaking to newsmen at his golden palace, New Owerri, he said proactive
steps have been taken by the Council to ensure that the traditional institution
in the State live up to expectation.
He added that the since he emerged Chairman of the Council, Traditional
rulers have heaved a sigh of relief, unlike in the past where they lived in
fear.
Ohiri added that the Council has grown in stature and size courtesy of
his innovations in the council such as the traditional rulers’ parliament.
He debunked claims in some quarters
that the forthcoming elections to kick start the Community Government Council
scheduled to hold 0n 15th December, 2011 across the communities in the
State has been hijacked. He said the CGC is not an invitation to chaos, but to
ensure that the grassroots in the State become democratic.
This he pointed out will enable communities in the State to benefit
hugely from the Rescue Mission of the Rochas Okorocha Administration.
He added that the traditional institution in the State has been
revitalized to play its role in the State, urging journalists in the State to
cross check their facts before publication.
