The Presidency Wednesday night assured leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State that the party will be re energized to move away from its present opposition status in Imo State in the next political dispensation

This is part of the fallout of an interactive meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and leaders of the PDP in Imo State held at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja. The meeting earlier scheduled for Tuesday night did not hold because of the absence of Mr. President.

When the meeting eventually took place Wednesday night, the President was said to have listened attentively to litany of complaints tabled before him by the party leaders from Imo State.  Among their grievances were the sack and non compliance of the Order of the Appeal Court, Owerri which ruled for the reinstatement of the elected Council Chairmen by Governor Rochas Okorocha, the establishment of Imo Security Network by the Imo State Government and other issues affecting the party in the State.

A source revealed that the State party Chairman, Eze Duruiheoma reeled out to the President the ordeal of the party in the State since it lost the governorship seat to APGA. His views were also corroborated by the pioneer Chairman of the party, Chief I.D Nwoga.

The President was said to have reassured the party leaders that their complains will be looked into and addressed. He was said to have urged them to remain steadfast and committed to the ideals of the party in the State.
