PDP To Hammer X Rated Aspirants

Ahead of primaries that will produce various candidates for various elective positions in the States, some top PDP eggheads are said to be working on a plan that will ensure that the ambition of some aspirants especially those eying the party’s guber or senatorial tickets in their various States are not feasible.

 Tagged Operation “X Rated Aspirants”, this group wants to dislodge some party members who have ambitions but whose action hurt the party in the past and in recent times.

According to those behind this plot, these x-rated aspirants fall in the category of those who worked against the party at one time or the other by disobeying and deliberately flouted party orders and directives, those that made the party an object of scorn and ridicule and those who have remained unrepentant with their romance with opposition, All Progressive Congress, APC.

This is said to be part of an approach adopted by some party kingpins who are keeping a tab on some prominent PDP members who hold important positions in the legislative and executive arms of government but are known to be friendly to the opposition.

This blog was told that while the party will continue to open its arms to those who are genuinely repented over their political mis-deeds in the past; it may not be so for those who still remain on the watch-list of the party leadership over their actions. 

This is one of the measures adopted by certain powerful forces in the PDP who believe it is pay- back time for those who worked against the party at one time or the other.

 A source in the party who is privy to the plot said “We have their dossier. We have their names. 

 Those who worked against the interest of the party at one time or the other. We are waiting for them. Most of them are have ambitions now.    They are like chameleons that change their colour at any given time"

"Consideration will be given to loyal party members. Not those who drink with us in the morning and dine with the opposition in the evening. We are going to work with those we can trust, those who have been with us all the way will be given due attention”

Efforts to Speak to Olisa Metu, the party's publicity scribe on the issue, was impossible,

bu another  party stalwart  said the report of  branding anyone an x rated aspirant is not feasible in PDP.

 He said “All that must have happened when the fight to remove Bamanga Tukur was on, but now things have changed in the party.  There is nothing like x-rated or top rated aspirants. I have not heard it before. It may be some people are just bent on stopping some people from succeeding in their aspirations, but that is not possible in this party. The umbrella is so large to accommodate everyone.  We will conduct credible primaries and whoever wins carries the day.

“Remember Mr. President and the new national leadership led by Adamu Mu’azu is for total reconciliation in the party. Mr. President has gone round the country to preach total reconciliation. We cannot harbor such ill feelings in the party” another source declared
