Radical
surgeon and whistle blower, Dr. Phillip Njemanze has said he was never disowned
by his colleagues as reported in the local media in Imo State.
Local tabloids
in the State had reported that catholic doctors have disowned Njemanze over his
petition against Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha that bordered on
allegations of human organ trafficking.
Njemanze
who spoke to our reporter said the doctors who announced he has been disowned are those that were
intimidated by the authorities against him.
He said
some of the doctors is on the payroll of the State government such as
Dr.Ikechi Ohale who is a staff of Imo State University Teaching Hospital,
Orlu
The
whistle blower pointed out that even some of the witnesses in his ongoing court
matter with Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha are being intimidated into
submission and silenced to change their story.
Njemanze was on Tuesday, February 16th,
2016 arraigned before an Owerri Magistrate court on a four count charge of
maligning the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The first charge is that the accused published and wrote a petition against the governor accusing him of setting up human factory in order to traffic in human organs through the concessioned public hospitals.
Other charges against Njemanze are: That anti human network has been established in Imo State, endangering lives of citizens; that the governor brought some American medical doctors into the State to treat a case which did not even break out in the State with ulterior motive and that the governor is causing insecurity in the State via his anti human policies.
The prosecution had said the accused did the publications to cause breach of law and order in the State knowing that such publications are false.
Njemanze pleaded not guilty and was granted bail for N100,000 with one surety and two passports and affidavit.
